Carlos D. Santos is a visiting professor at the Federal University of Maranhão, Brazil, and an Associated Scientist at the Max Plank Institute for Ornithology, Germany. He is interested on migration and social navigation of birds, and particularly in understanding flock dynamics with regards to decision making and information transfer.

Ana Veríssimo is a postdoctoral researcher at CIBIO-InBio, Portugal, studying the evolutionary processes occurring in fish taxa that have shaped the current biodiversity patterns. The main focus of Ana’s work has been on the study of population- and species-level patterns of diversity, using a combination of molecular tools, basic biology and ecology.
